• Mallow Run Winery (6964 W. Whiteland Rd., Bargersville, 317-422-1556) launched a winter concert series, Cabin Fever Fridays, inside its Sycamore event space. The fun begins this Friday with Blue River Band and food from Johnson’s BBQ and Brozinni Pizzeria.


• Sending a prayer up to the real-estate gods that Fountain Square fixture Sam’s Saloon (1640 Prospect St.) gets another lease on life. The two-story, 4,379-square-foot structure originally built as a roadhouse is up for sale. The Indianapolis Star fills in some details on the cool $1.2 million listing.
• The Indianapolis Star also reports that fried-chicken heroes Jay and Barbara Snyder have sold their 90-year-old restaurant, Hollyhock Hill (8110 N. College Ave.), to Kelly Haney, who also owns the telecommunications  firm Lingotek Inc.

• According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, The Kitchen co-founder Kimbal Musk has his eye on the former Double 8 Foods store on College Avenue for a restaurant concept—in addition to his planned opening on Massachusetts Avenue.
• Garfield Park is mourning the closing of The Garfield Eatery & Coffee.
